Boat trip

This morning, the children are so excited by today’s programme, they’ve already up and have made breakfast; slices of buttered bread, jam and steaming coffee for you, hot chocolate for them, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice from the campsite supermarket.
Your job today: get the bag ready – swimwear, towels, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, diving masks and a waterproof camera!

Leave by car for the port of L’Escala, where you board your excursion with Mare Nostrum, a campsite partner. En route, you glimpse the steep summits of the Montgrí mountain range in the distance…
You arrive in the port of L’Escala, where you meet the friendly cheerful team at Mare Nostrum. The boat is ready to leave, the children excitedly put on their life jackets.
A short safety briefing, and you’re off for a sea adventure!

The sea glistens, the wind whips through your hair, with the steep cliffs standing out against the azure blue.
The kids are filled with wonder, at the beauty of the caves carved out in the rock.

The boat slows down, to enter the famous La Foradada (Roca Foradada) cave, a natural tunnel, carved by the sea. Magical light, echoing seas, shouts of laughter – a truly timeless moment!

The boat drops anchor in a hidden inlet, accessible only by sea. The water crystal-clear blue.
Time for swimming and snorkelling! The children swim among little fish, while you explore the rocks…

You head back to the port. A final goodbye to the team, and you set off to find a picnic spot in the shade. The Platja del Convent beach comes recommended, on the way back to the campsite.

The children have fun on the beach swimming non-stop! You make the most of it to read a book in peace on your towel.
Later in the afternoon, you have a short stroll through the streets of Sant Martí d’Empúries, time to buy ice creams for the children and an iced coffee for you.

A well-deserved shower for everyone. The sea salt disappears but not the memories. The kids draw La Foradada cave in their holiday adventure journal.
You replay the day between bursts of laughter, over drinks and light bites.
This evening, you’ll read stories of pirates, safe in the knowledge that the kids will sleep peacefully tonight.
